I was first introduced to the Intermittent Fasting benefits from a wonderful article I saw on CNN and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
The article is full of information and even a video from Dr. Gupta and so I made a video on Youtube for my subscribers and introduced my followers to the many benefits. From this video I received a very wonderful testimony from a woman who has diabetes and had emotional eating habits. I asked her to give us a testimony so this new fasting (she was doing the 16/8 protocol) program could help others.

What is Intermittent Fasting 16 8?
In this new trend diet fad you will be fasting 16 hours and eating all you want for 8 hours. It is suggested however that you avoid sugar, dairy and white enriched flours. But some are eating anything they desire. Reversing your health depends on a healthy lifestyle though. In one study they suggested you do the 12 hour fast and 12 hour eating period but many health gurus found that fat burns faster after the 12 hour mark and fasting for 12 hours was more beneficial. When you break your fast, begin with your black seed oil which is proven to help with weight loss and is a "cure for all disease but death" including diabetes and cancer. See my dosage page for a full list of benefits. THE INTERMITTENT FASTING DIETYou will read on many sites that you can eat whatever you want after you break your fast. The couple on the CNN article fasted till 5pm and had no rules on what they could eat after breaking the fast, but common sense only dictates that eating healthy is what you should do.
If your goal is to cure a disease, eliminate inflammation and stomach problems then, eating healthy is a must. Even if you want to reduce pounds then eating the right foods will help you to reduce your weight faster and easier. |
INTERMITTENT FASTING WEIGHT LOSS
I began this fast as I noticed I was gaining weight and I was not comfortable with what was happening. After reading the story of one of my followers on Youtube and reading the CNN story on how this couple regained their health, I decided to give it a try. I have no health problems at the present, but I am 65 years old now and I am doing this as a preventative measure. Please note the first week is mainly water loss and as the weeks progress you will on average lose less. My goal was to lose 20 kilos or 44 pounds. Like the woman on Youtube I fasted from 8pm at night until 12noon the next day.
My first day of fasting I lost 5.2 pounds and very excited what will continue to happen. Day 2 I did not lose any weight. So I wanted to see if I could really eat all I wanted as the Wallstreet Journal stated and it is a big fat no. See my post below. |
There are two types of intermittent fasting.
You can cut out days or do the 16/8 (fast 16 hours, eat 8 hours) or Follow the Wallstreet Journal suggestion 12/12. This woman Sumaya Kazi lost 50 pounds fasting for 36 hours a week and eating all she wanted 4 days a week.
