WHAT ARE TELOMERES AND HOW DO
THEY INFLUENCE AGING?

I had an inspiration on how living longer (longevity), and black cumin oil could save the world.  I had a vision on how the world does not yet know enough about this miracle oil and seed and that the benefits outlay far more than what is known.  An inspiration—a thought – a hope!

So I went to make a video on black cumin and longevity, and there were none.  I quickly went to #1 because I was the only one talking on the subject.  A woman named Barbara brought up two things to me.
  1.  Telomeres
  2. Astragulus
  3. Proving black cumin extended life must include the two.
So I was off to prove that black cumin could help a person to live longer and better as Noah did or Job or some of the biblical prophets.  Didn't they live for hundreds of years?  The difference in those days is they lived simply like the Hunza tribe or the Ikaria people.  So I started my discovery on how to restore telomere length as the shorter it gets, the closer to death you become.

In my discovery, I found that some herbs in the longevity journey either lengthened the telomere or it caused anti-tumor benefits.  Some herbs like black cumin were put on earth to end the disease.  To live a long life, you must first be disease-free.  So I started studying to see what the Hunza people did to live to be 145 to 160.

THE HUNZA DIET AND LIFESTYLE

The Hunza people lived in the mountains in Pakistan and lived very simply and humbly.  The mountain air and their lifestyle has been long documented.
They drank spring water only and made a grain bread that was eaten with every meal. 

The women folk would make this in the evening and prepare the breakfast also.  The bread contained wheat flour or other grains they used such as butter, milk, salt, and yeast.

They had one cooked meal a day of daal and this chappati bread.  They did have low-fat meat of some kind around once a month.

They ate lots of fresh greens, fruits, seeds, and nuts with yogurt.  They ate a lot of apricot seeds, and this food comprised the most calories.  They ate a lot of berries also.
They ate some probiotic food daily like yogurt, kefir or fermented vegetables, and the average calories ranged from 1600 – 1800, not at all like the typical American diet.

So the Hunza people were neither vegetarian or vegan due to their minimal consumption of meat.


The video belows shows the wonderful scenery (so beautiful you will want to go) and the food eaten for celebrations.  Normal eating is more simpler than what you will see but you will see the many dishes they are making.

WHAT ARE TELOMERES?

There has been a lot of buzz about telomeres and how they influence cellular aging and disease risk. Researchers are churning out studies that describe the role of telomeres not only in how long we live but also in the quality of our lives. But first, what are telomeres?
 
 A telomere is a DNA-protein complex located at the end of each chromosome, capping and protecting it from decay and fusion with adjacent chromosomes. Each chromosome contains tightly packed DNA molecules, which carry genetic information; therefore, damage to any part of it causes alteration in an individual’s genetic make-up that may trigger certain disease processes.
 
In humans, each telomere is about 11 kilobases (the length of a double-stranded DNA with each strand containing 1000 base units or nucleotides) in length at birth. This declines as an individual grows older to about 4 kilobases in old age.
 
This shortening is normal and results from chromosome replication during cell division. During cell division, DNA cannot be replicated down the end of the chromosome, so that segment of the chromosome and the “cap” telomeres are cut out and lost. An enzyme called telomerase replenishes the telomeres in the new chromosome duplicate, but it is shorter than the truncated cap.  So, with each cell division, the telomere becomes shorter, and the shorter they get, the less protective they are. 
 
While this process may be normal, research has found that longer telomeres are linked with a longer lifespan and shorter telomeres increase the risk of age-related diseases. One of the plausible reasons for this is that if telomeres become too short, they tend to unfold from their normal closed-form. Consequently, the cell reads this as uncapping of the chromosome, then either halts its division and growth, enters into a phase of cellular senescence, or self-destructs - a process called apoptosis.
 
These processes cause cells to die off earlier than they should, causing organs to deteriorate. This leads to several age-related diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and stroke. Furthermore, shorter telomers also impair immune function, increasing the risk of immune-related diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes.
 
Research also found that reduced function of telomerase - which replenishes and maintains the length of telomeres in a chromosome - is implicated in several disorders such as aplastic anemia, blood cell disorders, lung disease, and cancer.
 
This presupposes that if telomeres increase in length as we grow older, cells will live longer. Similarly, if telomere shortening is slowed down as we age, the decline in cell growth and function will be slower, and we may also lead longer lives.

A 2012 study revealed that increased telomere length delayed aging and increased lifespan in adult and old mice without increasing cancer risk. The mice were treated with telomerase gene therapy to prolong their telomere length, and the results showed a 24 percent increase in median lifespan in mice at 1 year of age.
 
Also, a recent study by researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine found that skin cells with telomeres lengthened by a new procedure could divide up to 40 times more than untreated healthy cells. The researchers used RNAs that contain codings for telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT), the active element of telomerase.
 
Surprisingly, through our activities, we may have more control over our telomere length than we thought. With lifestyle and dietary changes, we can have longer telomere lengths, leading to a longer and better quality of our lives.

CURRENT THERAPIES FOR TELOMERE LENGHTENING

TA-65
Furthermore, there is evidence that antioxidant supplements could lengthen telomeres and potentially increase one’s lifespan. An example is TA-65 (Telomere Activator-65), a natural product that activates telomerase. It is extracted from the Chinese herb Radix astragali and has been shown to reduce the risk of and improve chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease.

Most take the therapies as they promote that they are a cancer preventative, but so is black cumin at a cheaper price.

A 2018 study published by scientists at the University of Connecticut demonstrated the telomere-lengthening effects of TA-65. The study showed that TA-65 activates telomerase and increases telomere length in human subjects diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. Furthermore, the study revealed that the participants reported improvement in their symptoms and in biomarkers for metabolic syndrome, including BMI, LDL cholesterol, and HDL cholesterol after taking TA-65 for 12 weeks.  Available here.

 
CYCLOSTRAGENOL (CAG)
Another supplement, Cycloastragenol (CAG) has also shown promise in increasing telomere length and preventing age-related diseases. CAG is an extract of the Chinese herb Astragalus Membranaceus, which has been found to have adaptogenic (stress-resisting) properties. A recent clinical trial demonstrated that CAG lengthens short telomeres and improved biomarkers of chronic diseases including high blood pressure, diabetes, and osteoporosis in 37 subjects who took the supplement for 12 months.  Available Here
 
HOW TO IMPROVE TELOMERE LENGTH

MAINTAIN HEALTHY WEIGHT
In addition to dietary therapies, healthy lifestyle changes also lengthen telomere length, preventing and improving age-related diseases. One study revealed from data of 647 American women that high BMI correlated with shorter telomere length among women aged 40 years and older. The mechanism between obesity and shorter telomeres is likely oxidative stress, and a healthy weight loss reduces the risk of oxidative stress and promotes longer telomeres.

MEDITERRANEAN DIET
Research has shown that the Mediterranean Diet is the healthiest diet to support the telomeres.  While most may think calorie restriction diets are the best as there is much info today on how this will increase your life span.  But the truth is CR diets prevent illness thus possibly increase life span but they do nothing to help lengthen the telomere.
 
REGULAR EXERCISE
Another study found that regular exercise reduced telomere attrition, decreasing the risk of chronic diseases. Some researchers found that men in their 50s who exercised regularly had average telomere lengths similar to men in their 20s, substantiating the link between physical activity and telomere length.

Limit Your Stress Levels
One of the main things that will cause your telomeres to shorten is continued stress.  I and others will have to learn to change lifestyles and job situations to avoid this.  The woman who lived to be 107 said it was because she never married.  Men can be toxic and relationships can be hard.  But most of the time we find toxic people to be family members such as mothers or parents and neighbors.  The days of love and giving is limited.

Prayer, Gratitude and Meditation
According to Dr. Jockers:  Keep your mind focused on gratitude for everything.  ive your life with a high level of integrity & humility.
Ask God to show you the purpose He created you for and pursue that with everything you have.

Alcohol
In a long term study it was shown that alcohol drinkers and non alcohol drinkers had a difference of 10 years in life span in connection with the telomere length.  10 years is immense.
 
Although scientists are yet to fully establish the link between telomere length, early cellular aging, and chronic disease, there is a growing body of evidence that ties all these together. This has led to numerous studies that have demonstrated the efficacy of experimental procedures, dietary changes, and lifestyle changes in influencing telomere lengths to improve the quality of our lives, prolong our years on earth, and possibly reverse aging.

Thank you Sister Sam for all of the wonderful information you share. I have followed your “tips”. Had a check up with my doctor and my blood work is awesome! My triglycerides came back high, everything else was so good we didn’t believe the machine. So she sent the bloodwork to the lab come to find out my triglycerides were perfect. The machine in the office was giving a false read. I need to inbox you the whole story you will laugh with joy at what I said to my doctor. God bless you. 😊

HOW DOES BLACK CUMIN OIL EXTEND LIFE AND PREVENT DISEASE

What we have learned in longevity is that the herb or supplement either lenghtens the telomere or it prevents and cures the disease.   If you look at everything that lengthens the telomore none of them can compare with Nigella Sativa or black cumin.

In my search to see if it had the ability to lengthen I came over a case study where it was used against the worse brain cancer in the world.  In fact the one John McCain died of and nigella sativa not over reversed the disease but it was proven superior over all conventional treatments.  However it did not lengthen the telomore.

As research studies dug further into longevity we found that black cumin had so many healing properties that it had to be included 10 fold. 

New research is now being done to prove Nigella Sativa extends life.  There was a study with mice that showed the mice lived longer with the use of NS.  But few cases are there.

We now know that inflammation is a key factor in most diseases and NS was able to remedy this and in fact very famous for this type of treatment.  Nigella Sativa also has the anti-tumor capabilities which is very important in longevity.  It is anti-parasetic and anti-viral and anti-fungus too.  It had the ability to keep hair from turning grey also.

There is one testimony on the longevity theory Jim Green who used astragulus oils to keep his hair from being gray and said it took over a year to do this.  He took 50 capsules per day of vitamin A to keep his skin young too.  Well we know black seed oil does both of these things in addition to all the things above including creating tumor death and most famously with pancreatic cancers.  So I did not find those necessary in my protocol.

What I did find necessary was the black cumin oil to prevent, treat and annihilate all diseases known to man including heart disease the #1 cause of death in the world.

 Herbs  and Supplements We Suggest for a Healthy Telomere Diet Plan

Black Cumin Oil - 1 tablespoon a day with organic juice or honey
Omega 3s – 2- 3 grams per day
Astragulus - many followers are taking huge amounts of this.  I suggest a tea with cat's claw, mint, ginger and black seeds.
Cat's Claw
Curcumin (organic from India) - but must be mixed with ground Ceylon or Malabar black pepper -  1 cup of turmeric to 1/8 cup of turmeric.  10 capsules daily.


Vitamins
As my study continued, I learned which vitamins are important in maintaining a healthy body and lengthening my telomeres.  You will notice that the dosages are much higher than normally recommended.

Vitamin D3 – shown to reduce inflammation and is a wonderful vitamin to help lengthen the telomeres and in one study with Vitamin D3, cancer risks were reduced by 77%.  We advise you to have your levels checked, but we usually suggest 5000iu or more.  I personally take 10,000.
Resveratrol – 250-500mg per day.  I prefer the red grape seeds myself.Te
Vitamin C – 1 – 4 grams per day.  I take 2 grams myself. 
B Complex – Look for a high-grade combination.
B12 - 1500mg daily taken in divided doses as it will cause diarrhea when taken all at once.
Folic Acid – This B vitamin helps to regulate your metabolism.  Too much of this vitamin can triple the rate at which your telomeres shorten.  We suggest 800 micrograms per day.

Magnesium -
Micronutrient intake from foods was generally not related to telomere length, except for vitamins C and E (Table 4). Higher dietary intake of these 2 antioxidants was associated with longer telomere length in a dose-response manner even after multivitamin use was adjusted for. Among women who did not use multivitamins (n = 203), higher dietary intakes of β-carotene, folate, magnesium, and vitamins C, E, and A were each associated with longer telomere length (Table 4).  Source
What is a Telomere Healthy Diet

Research has shown that the Mediterranean Diet is the healthiest diet to support the telomeres.  While most may think calorie restriction diets are the best as there is much info today on how this will increase your life span.  But the truth is CR diets prevent illness thus possibly increase life span, but they do nothing to help lengthen the telomere.

The normal person should live to 120 comfortably, but 30% of the telomere size is due to heredity and 70% to lifestyle.  Once you learn why you are sick and not well, you can then learn how to live longer and better, and living to 120 to 175 should be plausible.

The simple fact is, though, that many people do not want to give up eating the foods they love so much like chocolate cate, colas, and chips.  But you today have the information and knowledge to see how to live longer and better.  And in 30 days you can see vivid results.  While you won't be at the end of your journey in 30 days, you will see how the change affected you in 30 days and help you to continue on your journey.
So What should you be eating on your longevity diet?

Yes, I am asking you to give me 30 days to "BEGIN" the healing journey.  After 30 days you are going to see drastic changes to your body and your life.  You will feel better, look better and have more energy.  But it takes dedication and it takes a firm commitment.

For me I have made many changes like dedicating the next year to the peaceful solitude of my home.  I have asked Allah to let me be in a quiet surrounding for one year without neighbors or people who stress me.  I know stress is that harmful.

I know the journey begins with the first steps.  After the 30 days are up you will see the changes in your body and want to keep working to live longer and better.

Let's remember the Hunza tribe and how they live up to 160.  They ate simply and organic.  Everything they eat is fresh and local.  They do eat organic dairy (such as the Yak milk - let's look at goat milk and yogurt).  They use wheat flours that are not enriched and organic and you will note a lot of breads such as pancakes and the chipatti that is plain and filled.  They ate probiotics (yogurt or fermented veggies) daily and had only fresh juice, Hunza teas or the spring water.  There are no processed foods or packaged foods.  You must clean your cabinets.
